NEW YORK – Trikona Capital Ltd., a firm that manages institution investments in Indian infrastructure and real estate, has expanded its partnership SachsenFonds Holdings, a subsidiary of German fund manager Kanam Gruppe.
According to Trikona, the deal with Sachsen Fonds is worth approximately $156 million, and represents the third in a series of transactions with the Munich-based firm. As part of the agreement, SachsenFonds and Trikona will invest more than $70 million in four new projects focused on infrastructure development in India.
The partnership originated last December when Trikona sold assets from the portfolio of its London Stock Exchange-listed fund, Trikona Trinity Capital PLC, to Sachsen for close to $65 million. In June, New York-based Trikona strengthened the partnership with a $150 million deal. The proceeds from all three transactions total approximately $300 million.
