Manhattan to come to Baner

Posted by paragjani on November 21, 2008

If you are among the rich and the elite and if you get luckier, you may get a chance to own a residence in a top-end super luxurious Rs 100-crore residential project in Baner called ‘Manhattan.’

The dream house will be spread across 6,500 sq ft with four huge bedrooms, a sprawling living room, a separate entertainment room, a formal dining hall and to top it all, your own private swimming pool on a landscaped 1,000 sq ft terrace. California-based International Concepts (INC), in partnership with city-based Amar Builders, is coming up with the complex of 18 lavish homes. The project was formally launched at a press conference on Monday.

“Manhattan has been designed to cater to the lifestyles of the rich and the elite,” said principal architect of MoCo design studios and architect of Manhattan, Pritika Kinra clearly indicating that the price of such top class luxury is something not everyone can afford. It has been learnt that ‘Manhattan’ will be a residential project of only 18 exclusive homes, each priced between Rs 5 to 6 crore.

“Why live amongst the many when you can live amongst the few and elite,” says INC executive director Jay Kinra, while clarifying how the project was slated to be a concept which would change the way the rich, exclusive and the elite lived in India.

But the rich cannot reach for their chequebooks right away. Even the select few who are capable of affording the rather heavy price for this class of luxury have to hold their breath. The creators of this exclusive luxury habitat will handpick the people whom they deem fit to reside in Manhattan, based on their status and reputation.

“What makes Manhattan different is not just its luxury and state-of-the-art amenities and security, it is the privacy, security and the feeling of exclusivity which will distinguish Manhattan from the rest,” said Jay.

“Manhattan is our foray into super luxurious homes,” said Amar Builders director Hrishikesh Manjrekar.

The houses will be ready for possession in 24 months, said Amar Builders founder director Amar Manjrekar.

Manhattan will have two 9-storeyed towers connected by a central core with one residence on each floor. Some additional features include a seven-storey waterfall, staff quarters with separate lifts, corridors and separate entrances, basement parking with space to park four cars per residence apart from other high-end features.
